The Railways of Devon and Cornwall
Welcome to The Railways of Devon and Cornwall!
Current Version : v7.1
Released 13th November 2018
The Railways of Devon and Cornwall (‘RDC’) started with DTG’s ‘Riviera Line’. RDC has substantially extended it! Version 7 extends the tracks to Penzance and St Ives.
Version 7 completes the CML to Penzance (including stations, embankments, tunnels and signaling) and corrected errors and problems that people have told us about.
RDC v7 has detailed scenery for:
- Exeter to Plymouth, Exmouth, Honiton, Copplestone and Meldon Quarry
- Newton Abbot to Paignton (from the Riviera Line)
- The Paignton to Dartmouth Railway (all new)
- Plymouth to St Germans and Gunnislake
- St Erth to St Ives
- The Penzance area, including Long Rock depot
There is partial scenery for:
- Cowley Bridge Junction to Tiverton Parkway.
- St Germans to Menheniot
And line, signalling and stations only for:
- Honiton to Axminster
- Copplestone to Barnstaple
- Tiverton Parkway to Bristol Temple Meads
- The CML from Menheniot to Penzance
- Totnes to Buckfastleigh (The South Devon Railway)
We’ll steadily fill in missing detail and new route features over time. We’re keen to keep everything as up to date as possible, for example by adding the new Exeter depot and the planned new stations at Marsh Barton and Okehampton East.
We’ve done our best to accurately include the recently enhanced signaling along the Cornish Main Line, but we couldn’t get hold of detailed information for the improvements west of Truro. We’ve used field trips and the 2018 National Rail video stream along the line to gather as much detail as we could, but signal numbering for new equipment and which signals are repeaters have had to be educated guesses for now.
In due course we’ll add the Plym Valley Railway, the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway, and the rest of the Cornish branches. It will take some time to complete the Railways of Devon and Cornwall, but in the end they’ll all be there.
Some AWS equipment along the CML causes a cab warning for repeaters that show green. We can’t work out why! We’ll fix this as soon as we can. For now, please listen out for and cancel the warnings in the normal way (press ‘Q’).
